Native to South Africa, Protea belong to one of the oldest familes of flowers on Earth, dating back 300 million years. According to Greek mythology, Protea were named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon, making it a symbol not of change, transformation and diversity not only in Ancient Greek civilisations, but for various cultures across South Africa today.
